MDS provided regulatory compliance consulting and engineering support services for the construction of a 76-foot LOA long range trawler built for commercial service in Australia. The vessel, designed and engineered in the United States,constructed in Taiwan, and certified for commercial service in Australia, involved a complex permitting process. MDS guided and documented the vessel and systems construction to comply with the Australian National Standards for Commercial Vessels and Bureau Veritas classing. As part of this effort, MDS acted as the builder’s agent for all regulatory correspondence and vessel inspections. MDS also provided subsequent construction and engineering drawings to satisfy the New South Wales Maritime Review Board.
